Please help! Our Josefina's hair stinks!

Hi all:

I have noticed lately that my daughter's Josefina really stinks. I can smell a metal rust smell from several feet away from the doll. It's mostly coming from her hair. I asked my daughter when did this happen, she said the moment she opened the box last year, but she didn't care because she loved her no matter what. I found the original box in my storage, and opened it, sure enough it had the same iron rust smell. How weird! Has anyone had similar problem with their doll? I called AG rep and she said she has never heard of this. The worst part is now Samantha (who is sitting next to Josefina) also stinks the same way, and all their outfits smell like rust.

Weird! I would call AG again and see if you can talk to someone higher up who might know. . .sounds like they should replace doll.

Maybe it was the way they where made... or maybe there's something in you house where you store the dolls thats making it stink.

But we have 8 dolls, and Josefina is the only one that has this weird smell. Now samantha who is sitting next to her starts to get that smell too, so I had to isolate Josefina from the rest of the dolls.

Just a thought are the eyes (hinges)still made with metal and if so could they have been rusted before the doll was packed in the box and shipped?

Perhaps if you called CS, they could clean your Josefina at the AG Hospital (a wellness visit)or perhaps replace her eyes or head. I'd be sure to tell them how the odor was in the box when first opened, even though your DD didn't mention it for awhile. They should do this for free, since the doll came this way.
